We're excited to announce a small yet powerful quality-of-life improvement to our Directus automation feature, Automate. As some of you may already know, flows are multi-step processes which begin with a trigger such as changes to your data, or on a recurring schedule.
Today, we're pleased to introduce a new feature that enhances the manual trigger by allowing users to configure it with a confirmation prompt in a pop up modal, which can collect additional information from the user before executing the Flow.
This means that users can now provide more context or input at the time of triggering the Flow, making it even more versatile and personalized to your needs.
This new feature enables you to tailor your Flows in new and creative ways, and it's incredibly easy to set up. Simply configure your Flow's "manual" trigger to show a confirmation prompt, and then use the information collected in the prompt throughout your Flow's steps. It's that simple!
Here's a few ideas on how you can use the manual trigger confirmation prompt…
Use the prompt to capture relevant medical information, such as symptoms or patient history, before executing a treatment suggestion Flow. This way, healthcare providers can tailor treatments to the patient's specific needs.
Use the prompt to get additional information before executing a purchase Flow. For example, you could ask users for their preferred delivery date or any special delivery instructions.
Use the prompt to capture relevant information, such as approval comments or additional documentation, before the Flow is executed. This way, you can tailor the approval process to your specific needs.
We're excited to see how this new feature will empower you to take even more control of your workflows, streamline your processes, and ultimately achieve your goals more efficiently. As always, we're committed to making Directus the most flexible and powerful backend toolkit out there, and hope you find use in this enhancement.
